Can I take antibiotics and probiotics?

The question is one that is asked often, and has many different answers.  The best answer I have found is from the University of Washington medical school.  During antibiotic therapy probiotics should not be used in combination with antibiotics.  The probiotics should be started at the end of the antibiotic therapy and continued for 30 days after the completion of the antibiotic therapy to replace the good bacteria lost during antibiotic treatment.

A colon and liver cleanse should then be completed to be certain any medication residual is removed from both the colon and liver to allow the good flora to flourish.  Visit Puristat.com for more information on cleansing and probiotics.
